St Martins Angling Club News             1st May 2010

The Angling club committee after building up a good membership for the club last year have restocked the pool for the new season.

After a very cold winter the pool is starting back into full swing with several good specimens being caught.

Membership is now due for the 2010/2011 season (you should have renewed your rod licence) and Club fees are staying the same as last season, £20 full - £5 Junior - £5 day ticket.

The club insurance covers all members for accidents anywhere in Europe.

Membership cards and day tickets can be bought at Woodcocks Newsagents, a big thank you to Pam, and from club treasurer when available.

Membership has now passed the 70 mark, the pool is looking great, the staging has been renovated by Trevor and Fred and the pool is fishing well.
The committee are now seeking approval for installation of some more small staging at various points around the pool.

The committee have decided to restock the pool with some extra Mirror carp during November, they have been ordered and are awaiting testing and certification before they can be moved.

October has seen some fine specimens coming out of the pool, with Bill Perry landing one of the best.

Another good specimen was landed by Alan Belling

And how about this one caught earlier in the season by Paul Gregson?

Let me have your pics for the next news update, Neil.

Following on from the official opening the Pool has seen lots of action with the warmer weather bringing out the big fish. This chap was caught by Gareth Maddox and weighed in at a respectable 9lb 3oz.

Fred, as usual has been busy keeping the pool neat and tidy, cutting the grass, trimming back the vegetation and litter picking. Members can help by taking rubbish home with them.
The new signs have been produced and were installed by Fred with a bit of help and a lot of banter from Trevor

If any member catches a good one please take a snap and let me have it for the next News Sheet.

Happy Fishing, Neil.
